South of Market

The vast South of Market (SoMa) district is so named because of its location south of Market Street. Located in the northeastern area of San Francisco, SoMa includes the Mission Bay and South Beach areas and is known for its buzzing cultural scene, great public transportation, and close proximity to major attractions such as the Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Gardens.
